On March 7, 2018 the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) launched a program called Polskie Powroty (Polish Returns). Its aim is to encourage return of Polish researchers, who, after a period of employment abroad, want to continue their scientific development in Poland. The budget of PLN 45 million is planned for the programme.

The funds obtained as a part of Polish Returns will allow to provide remuneration at the European level for Polish researchers returning from abroad and to create Project Groups (Research Teams). The application can be submitted by universities and research entities that plan to employ returning researchers.

Researchers must have been employed in foreign public or private universities, or in foreign research and scientific institutes, or in research departments of foreign enterprises based outside of Poland (provided that the stay was not financed from Polish budget funds), for a period of at least 2 years preceding the date of submitting the application.

NAWA will provide financing for projects for 36 to 48 months in a maximum amount for one project of PLN 2,175,000.

Applications can be submitted by May 31st 2018 - only via the NAWA IT system
