We present a summary of the research report conducted among young Polish researchers related to their professional research career development in the academic and non-academic sectors on the domestic and international market. The report talks about the competences that they think they need and the barriers they face every day in order to find a job. The report was prepared on the basis of a survey carried out as part of the PL-ERADays (GA:741769) project financed by the Horizon 2020 program funds.
